WHY THE CARIBBEAN?

CLICK EACH COUNTRY FOR A MARKET OVERVIEW
Suriname

The discoveries of the Maka Central-1 well (January of 2020) and the Sapakara West-1 well (April 2020) by the Apache Corporation and Total S.A. consortium has fulfilled a longstanding belief by Suriname’s National Oil Company, Staatsolie and the people of Suriname that the former Dutch colony has significant quantities of good quality commercial oil. CARIVS 2020 delves into the schedule and pace of development, mid and downstream opportunities and Staatsolie’s IPO quest.

Trinidad & Tobago

As the largest oil and natural gas producer in the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago’s petroleum exploration sector began in 1857. Since then, eight exploration phases has yielded the discovery of three oil provinces, two gas provinces and a sharp decline in production. CARIVS 2020 gives insight into Trinidad and Tobago expanding its role as a regional hub, refining and processing its neighbors’ feedstock and the Caribbean leader of the energy transition.

Guyana

Since the announcement of its first commercial discovery in 2015, Guyana has drilled 20 exploration wells, announced 18 commercial discoveries, found over 8 billion barrels of recoverable light crude oil and billions of dollars to be invested in additional projects.

CARIVS 2020 examines investment opportunities in supply base logistics, storage, transportation and its future in petrochemicals.

Bahamas

The Bahamas is a country within the Lucayan Archipelago of the West Indies in the Caribbean. With its first exploration well called Perseverance# 1, to be drilled in the coming months, the country is expected to possess a potential recoverable resources of 2 billion bbl of oil equivalent. CARIVS 2020 will provide an exclusive platform for key stakeholders including prime contractors and subcontractors to explore numerous upstream opportunities in the Bahamas oil and gas sector.

Barbados

Barbados has a long history of oil production dating back to the eighteenth century where oil was collected from hand dug pits. The BNOCL, a statutory corporation of the Barbados Government currently operates the oil and gas industry in the island. Barbados produces both crude oil and natural gas, and has around 2 million barrels of proven oil reserves . About 240 onshore wells have been drilled and around 100 of them are currently in operation, most of which are located in the vicinity of the Woodbourne Development Area in the south-west of the island. Together, they produce about 1,500 bpd for oil. CARIVS 2020 would highlight the key aspects and numerous investment avenues available in the oil and gas sector of Barbados.
